RIP, Teoh Beng Hock

The silent anger in all right thinking Malaysian is deep, sometime and most time too deep for words. Even if one does not subscribe to any political party or ideology, the thought/rumour/perception that a person should be subjected to long hours of so called questioning until the wee hours of the morning is deplorable. The fact that the person was a mere witness and not a suspect at all is another matter. The time taken to question a witness is absolutely ridiculous; what was on the mind of the so called 'Guardians of the country's Integrity'?

For get about the thought/rumour/perception that the MACC practices 'selective investigations'. It should not be a 'thought' anymore; it is a fact. Forget about it being a mere 'rumour'; it is fact. do not let it simmers anymore as mere 'perception'; it is a fact.

One only have to look at the clear cut cases where millions and even billions have been expended/obtained in dubious ways. Why is it that party members in UMNO, MIC, MCA and all those in the BN would go all out, even to the extent of physical fights, to become a 'wakil rakyat'? So that they can 'serve' the people? So that they can 'sacrifice' time and family to 'serve'?? If one really believes this, then one is either born yesterday or a complete idiot.

The majority of Malaysians do not know Beng Hock; but I am certain we ALL feel/felt the pain of the parents and family. How will the fiancee/wife ever tell to the yet to be born child that his/her father died in such unknown circumstances?

I dont think any of us will not feel the pain....

Blatant Discrimination by Sime Darby

Sime Darby is a GLC, one of the giants of Malaysia. Yet, it dutifully and willfully practices outright discrimination, which i supposed, is simply reflecting what the policy of the government of the country.

Are the Bumiputeras the only segments of society that needs help? Would any person, regardless of race, who can afford a RM2,000,000 + property really need to be given more?

Take a look at the following:

A bigger image....

The differential in monthly installment is RM14,583 for a loan amount of RM2+ million.

For the poor citizen who can only afford a RM300K loan, the monthly difference in installment is RM2041.

What is the cause of this? Is this ethical??

9 Powerful Words Women use....

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house. .

(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes.

Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men.

A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man.

That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome.

(I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome'. that will bring on a 'whatever').

(8) Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying F--- YOU!

(9) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous state; this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself.

This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

RWMF 2009

The long awaited weekend to the Rainforest World Music Festival 2009 came and gone in the blink of an eye. It took some time in coming since booking and arrangement were done towards the end of 2008!!

The idea came about sometime in July 2008, and upon learning that one of my business partner runs a tour agency in Sarawak, and therefore was willing and able to help in arrangements, a group of friends took the plunge and bought air tickets even before other arrangement was made!

The accommodation was at the Kem Permai, a real 'junglely' kind of place to stay. We had a 3 cabins long house, with 2 rooms in each cabin. Most amenities were basic but adequate. Brunch and dinner was part of the total cost, although eating in the jungle setting can be an experience by itself.

The Festival was a blast. The performances were varied; a few groups were droning while there were others who really captured hearts. There was the Moroccan who played tiny hand cymbals with a never ending 'goat milking' action while dancing nimbly, twirling furiously and all the while clanging continuously. Fantastic...

All that can be said is ' we were enjoyed'!!.

Muddy and scratched....

On Tuesday, i drove to Gua Musang to look at a 3000 acres oil palm plantation that is just starting to fruit. The partnership that started this commercial joint venture has sort of not been getting on and they decided perhaps it is time to retire.

The land is about 20 km from Gua Musang town, on the left side of route 8 to Kuala Krai. It is not exactly flat territory, with some knolls of certain heights. The trees seem to be in good condition although it is obvious there have been some neglect, supposedly due to lack of manpower.

We took the Hilux, and while traversing the plantation, it was constantly in 4WD mode.

I am impressed by the pulling and climbing capability of the Hilux.

The vehicle is now suitably 'baptized'the hard way....

Have a look at the car..

if you look closely, you will see plenty of scratches as well below the mud...
