Full physical health check

Went for my annual full physical health check on Monday, and was told I am in good shape... Hmmm

Anyway, the first item was, er, the urine test. They give you this tiny plastic container that you are supposed to pee in, hopefully without wetting then hand that is holding the tiny plastic container. You then have to come out of the bathroom, under scrutiny by many busy bodies, and discretely place the tiny plastic container in a tray at the nurse's window. By this time, you must act as if all is normal and that what you have just done is the most natural of thing to do early every morning.

Next thing is they will draw blood.. 10ml of blood since they will run a battery of tests.. cholesterol, HIV, hepatitis, antibodies, hormones, and just about anything else they can think of.. that is why they want 10ml.

Then to the X ray room for a full chest X ray. Off with the shirt and press your chest against the cold cold surface of the x ray emitter. 30 seconds later, all done.

They will give you a cup of chocolate drink and two sandwiches. I was already getting a headache since i have yet to have my caffeine fix whole day. After the 'breakfast', they will stick a few electrodes on your chest to get an ECG reading when you are in a relaxed state.

After lunch, will be the stress test.

apparently, this time round my heart condition was better than last year's. Under this test, you are to walk, run whatever, on the thread mill until you reach a target heartbeat rate. The magic formula to determine the heartbeat rate is 220 less your age. In my case, i have to reach 178. and this time round, i have to run 2.5 minutes longer than last year to reach this heartbeat rate.

All in all, it would seem i am in better shape than last year.. My weight is still the same.. height is no longer a variable function.. the only change i have been observing is the staring point where my tummy starts to curve. Each year, this point seem to migrate upwards.

wonder what will happen this year...?
