Going out for dinner...

The scenes below are probably quite representative of many a couple on the way to dinner on any typical evening...

Be Strong and Take Courage Lyrics-Don Moen

Rental car with snow...

It snowed quite a bit last night, and there were fresh snow on the ground this morning.

this was how the rental car looked like. The snow was soft and fluffy since there was no rain and the snow did not turn to ice. There was no need to scrap anything, just light brushing did the job.

The top exposed part of the car was covered with about 3 to 4 inches of soft fluffy white snow.

The post is done at Denver International Airport, perhaps one of the very few airports in the USA where wireless internet access is free!!

Hurray for DIA!

Cold and another steak

When we left Minneapolis on Thursday morning, the temperature was in the single digit, not Celsius, but Fahrenheit! And in C, it was well below zero.

The night before, on the way back to the hotel after dinner, it started snowing. It was the first time for me driving while it was snowing. Perhaps it was just as well that Hertz gave us a SUV.

Before returning the car, the fuel has to be topped up. And since there were no attendants who will do this for customers here, i had to stand outside in the cold to fill up the SUV. By the time it was filled, my hands were a compete wreck. Fingers were actually tingling once in the car again.

At the Mall Of America, i tried my luck again for a good steak.

What came was even worst than what was passed off as a steak in Hugo. The restaurant at MOA was the Tony Roma, supposedly pretty good.

Take a look at what was passed off as a TR special....

This was the chef's recommended steak, a TR rated steak....

Humongous Meals...

One thing I have been trying to understand and yet have not been able to is the amount of food Americans tend to eat. Is it because of them wanting to eat a lot or is it due to the size of the servings.

Just to get some idea....

This was a chicken salad.. the black thing in front is my BlackBerry casing. This was lunch, which we could not finish at all.

On arrival to the hotel at Forest Lake, we walked to a nearby eatery called Famous Dave's. And their signature dish is bbq ribs. I thought i was being smart by just taking the ribs alone and no side dishes. what came was this...

Again, for size reference, my BlackBerry casing... HUGE.

I tried my nest and left these uneaten, with perhaps a rather liberal amount of meat still on the 'eaten' ribs.

Left overs...

Chong was even worst as far as doing justice to his meal was concern..

Look.

He was trying to pass that off as having taken his dinner..!!

Somehow, I think we are getting to eat too much as well.

Security Guards..

Early this month, when I arrived at the office at about 640AM, the gate was locked and what normally would happen is the security guards would open the gate for me to drive in.

On that morning, i waited and no one open the gate. There was also no light on inside the guard house, windows were also closed.

So, i got down, and waled through the side door, which should have been locked as well.

Guess what I saw...

Sleeping so ever so soundly

Sleeping ever so comfortably

These two were gone on the same day.

Dad's birthday

Pictures taken when we had a small little party for my dad on his birthday...

Dinner at Milwaukee

It is quite cold outside, with traces of heavy snowfall as few days/weeks ago. There were still piles of snow all over the place. So, i guess the ambient temperature was probably still below 0 degree.

So, the idea then was to get something 'normal', not deep fried and/or oily.

We ended up at this place called 'A Touch of Hunan', owned by a couple from China. Of course we spoke with the lady serving us and she spoke in Cantonese.

Chong digging into the noodles, which were way too much for two non American diners. The lady said this is the normal size for most Americans!

Cold outside... strong wind..airplane crash.

The night temperature outside of the room is below 0 degree Celsius. When we were landing yesterday evening, the sway and side movement was the worst i have even been in through the many times i have came to the USA. The plane was a 747, and it is not easy to sway that big bird, but it was quite turbulent.

We found out why this morning; the wind yesterday was in excess of 50 mph and trees were being blown down.

On the news this morning, there was a plane that took off from Newark and crashed near Buffalo, killing all on board, including one on the ground. Sad day...

Tomorrow will have some free time, and we thought of going down to New York city to walk around a bit.. will see.

Politicians = Person without any moral

Take a good look at these faces... These are the faces of people without a single fiber of moral, principle, ethics in their whole worthless being.

These are the faces of frogs, criminals.

These are the faces of pure and unadulterated corruption.

These are supposed to be our 'leaders'??
