Blood Donation

I remember the first time I donated blood; it was at college and I tried to rally the whole class to go together. Almost all the guys went excep for this one chap who just could not find the courage to enter the room to even have his blood group verified. And he was not exactly a small chap as well...
That was way back in 1982..
When I was in Uni, I also donated blood a few times. One thing that I always remember was that each of those times, I came out from the room with two holes, one in each arm. For some reason, my blood flows real slow, and , after some 20 minutes, the bag was just not filling up and the nurse will ask whther they can puncture the other arm to continue to drain blood and fill the bag. OK....
Yesterday I gave a 450ml bag of A+ blood.
The only problem I faced was the fact that others came, quickly filled the bag, and gone. And there I was, still lying on the couch waiting for the bag to be filled! Some started when I had the bag half filled, and by the time they finished, I was stilling trying to get the bag filled.
I think it has to do with my rather 'stingy' disposition.... It is hard to get blood from me!!
